Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Sherrell House Care Home in Chigwell, Essex. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing physical, emotional, and social support to our residents, working alongside and mentoring a team of Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect
- Work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered
- Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting social interaction and well-being
- Contribute to the development and implementation of person-centred care plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with the Home Manager, ancillary teams, and other Senior Care Assistants and registered nurses to ensure seamless care delivery
Requirements
- Two years' experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or three years' experience without an NVQ
- Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
- Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia is desirable
- Previous experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system is desirable
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate: £12.60 - £13.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Part-time and full-time vacancies available
- 12-hour night shifts from 8pm - 8am, Monday - Sunday, with alternate weekend shifts
