Associate Director/Director Designate Civils

Fortis Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director/Director Designate Civils to join our consultancy supporting the development industry. Our client is an independent provider of flood risk, infrastructure, and highways design services.


The successful candidate will undertake strategic development planning and design work, specializing in providing highways, infrastructure, and drainage advice to a wide range of private and local authority clients. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading and coordinating detailed design and implementation into projects throughout the construction phase.
  2. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, requiring strong time management skills.
  3. Supporting financial and commercial management through calculated project management.
  4. Demonstrating strong knowledge in financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering on both large and small client projects.
  5. Chartered status with at least 8-10 years of commercial experience.
  6. Strong knowledge of legal processes, planning, design, design software, adoption and contract procedures, and drainage schemes including SUDS and infrastructure.
  7. Knowledge of relevant design codes, including sewers for adoption, SUDS manual, water industry act, and water environment.
  8. Experience with drawings for contract documents S104, S106, S185, S38, S98, S278.
  9. Proficiency in relevant software MicroDrainage & AutoCAD.
