The Role Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant within our college. Successful candidates may be required to provide support across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality educational support to individuals or small groups of students with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as additional literacy and numeracy support. This includes implementing recommended inclusion strategies and collaborating with curriculum colleagues to maintain a consistent support approach. Support may be provided in-class, during educational visits, and work placements.

• Documenting, evaluating, and adjusting support strategies throughout the academic year using institutional systems.

• Assisting students in utilizing specialized equipment and promoting the understanding and use of assistive technology to foster independence both in and out of the classroom.

• Keeping accurate records of the support provided and its impact on student progress using institutional systems.

• Contributing to Annual Reviews for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum qualifications in English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or Level 2.

• Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or in Teaching and Learning support, or a willingness to pursue such qualifications.

• Level 2 qualification in IT or demonstrable practical IT skills.

• Understanding of various additional needs and their effects on learning capabilities.

• A flexible, student-centered approach to support.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
