What is the role of a Care Support Specialist?

This is a dynamic and varied position, aiding individuals with numerous facets of daily living and enabling them to participate in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, personal care, meal assistance, household management, and teaching essential life skills. The responsibilities are extensive. Care Support Specialists work collaboratively in shifts or designated schedules, providing round-the-clock support, with opportunities for additional sleepover compensation in certain schedules.

Who are we looking for?

  • Individuals who are genuinely passionate about assisting others, demonstrating kindness and understanding.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is preferred, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • A valid full driver's license is required.
  • Someone who possesses the initiative to encourage individuals to achieve their goals, is energetic, sociable, and capable of innovative thinking. Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles is essential.
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts as part of a rotating schedule, including weekends.

Empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity are crucial in this position, as the individuals we support come from a variety of backgrounds with differing needs and interests.
