Our department is composed of Dietitians with advanced expertise in various fields, including Oncology, Complex Nutritional Support, Surgical Nutrition, Gastroenterology, Stroke Rehabilitation, Critical Care, and Pediatric Nutrition.

This position is primarily located at King George's Hospital, with potential responsibilities at the Queens Hospital site based on service requirements. As part of a compact team of dietitians, you will have the autonomy to manage an inpatient caseload across general medical, surgical, and geriatric wards, ensuring the provision of specialized nutritional care, which encompasses oral, enteral, and parenteral feeding. Additionally, you will oversee the development of junior dietitians and engage in various departmental responsibilities, including collaboration with the catering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetic service to both inpatients and outpatients within the Trust.

• Provide specialized nutritional care (including oral, enteral, and parenteral feeding) to patients and their families for a designated area, which includes, but is not limited to, surgical care, general medicine, geriatric care, stroke recovery, and critical care support as necessary.

• Serve as a resource of dietary knowledge for colleagues and other healthcare professionals throughout the organization.

• Collaborate as an integral member of the Dietetic team to ensure comprehensive service coverage during periods of absence.

• Offer clinical guidance to junior dietitians, including orientation to the Trust, regular supervision sessions, and annual performance evaluations.

• Contribute to the Trust's clinical governance initiatives by participating in audits, developing and implementing evidence-based guidelines, protocols, and policies, as well as engaging in ongoing professional development.
