Manchester, United Kingdom Career Connect Full time

Join Our Team as a Pre-Release Support Facilitator

Salary range: £26,485 - £30,012 per annum

Fixed-term contract until March 2025 (with potential for extension)

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Pre-Release Support Facilitator within our expanding employment and educational assistance program at Career Connect. This initiative is designed to aid individuals under the supervision of the Probation Service in accessing valuable educational and employment pathways.

If you possess a background in supporting marginalized individuals, including those on probation or recently released from incarceration, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Your role will involve engaging with incarcerated individuals to facilitate their participation in educational, training, and employment opportunities through both individual and group sessions. You will operate primarily in designated correctional facilities.

Key attributes for success in this position include proactivity, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage your own caseload effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering group sessions to individuals facing challenges and will be adept at collaborating with partner organizations to achieve optimal outcomes for participants. Accurate documentation of participant plans is essential, requiring comfort with databases and a keen attention to detail.

In collaboration with the incarcerated individual, you will develop an action plan that outlines educational and employment goals during their time in custody and appropriate strategies for their reintegration.

Additionally, you will coordinate with community-based Key Workers to ensure a seamless transition, including organizing a three-way meeting upon release at the local probation office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments for all new referrals.
  • Develop action plans detailing activities for service users.
  • Encourage service users to engage with the program and attend scheduled appointments.
  • Manage service users effectively throughout their journey.
  • Implement interventions as specified in the action plan.
  • Connect service users with specialized support organizations as needed.
  • Customize support to align with individual needs and learning preferences.
  • Collaborate with Probation Practitioners and correctional facility staff.
  • Engage with potential participants within the correctional environment multiple days a week.
  • Request referrals through the appropriate case management systems.
  • Participate in prison resettlement boards.

We are particularly interested in candidates who excel at building rapport with individuals to foster their progress, can effectively network with partner organizations, and are proactive in identifying new opportunities for their caseload.

We will provide comprehensive training to equip you for the Key Worker role and ongoing support as you transition into this position.

Your Benefits

Our full-time employees enjoy a standard 35-hour work week with flexible scheduling options. We ensure that any additional hours worked can be compensated with time off at a later date, a valuable perk of working with Career Connect. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Key Workers are compensated on a scale up to £30,012, with reimbursement for travel expenses incurred beyond your primary work location. Our holiday package starts at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with up to an additional 6 days for longer-serving staff. Starting in 2025, we will introduce a holiday flex scheme allowing staff to purchase extra leave.

Join a dedicated team within a growing charity focused on enhancing social mobility. You will have access to training, career advancement opportunities, birthday leave, and additional employee benefits.
