Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Medication Supply Chain Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the development and optimization of our pharmacologistics service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a pharmacologistics strategy to ensure service continuity and minimize negative patient impact.
  • Respond to medication supply issues, assessing the situation and coordinating a response with the Clinical Services and Pharmacy Procurement Teams.
  • Lead regional and national meetings on supply chain management, summarizing and cascading information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Services and Pharmacy Procurement & Distribution Teams to develop a more resilient pharmacologistics pathway, focusing on proactive planning for supply chain disruptions.
  • Work closely with the Associate Chief Pharmacist for Procurement & Distribution to ensure inventory management is maintained and extended in the event of an incident.
  • Ensure quality standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are established and met for pharmacologistics.
Requirements
  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
Desirable Skills and Competencies
  • Specialist knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice
  • Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the clinical governance agenda
  • Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to the area of practice
  • Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of Pharmacy
  • Demonstration of advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework
