We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology, working closely with the Principal Pharmacist to establish outpatient clinics and streamline processes for initiating and maintaining patients on biologics/targeted-synthetic small molecules.
Main Responsibilities- Specialist Clinical Leadership: Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within Rheumatology, providing high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Clinical Pharmacy Services: Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology, participating regularly in outpatient clinics and multidisciplinary ward rounds to deliver and promote high-quality pharmaceutical care.
- Guideline Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines to ensure safe and effective use of medications within the Rheumatology specialty.
- Financial Management: Regularly report on financial performance, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, and manage drug budgets to optimize resource allocation.
- Research and Audit: Participate in practice and clinical research and audit to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of Rheumatology.
