We are seeking an experienced Area Health and Safety Lead to join our team at Hinkley Point C. As a key member of the MEH Alliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of the Hinkley Point C Nuclear project.

The Role

As Area Health and Safety Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the HSE advisors' K.P.I.s and supporting the HSE Area Lead in accident investigations. You will also conduct audits of MEH site activities and sub-contractor operations, facilitating meetings and recording findings in line with the HSSE Management system requirements.

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Build relationships with other Tier 1's and the Principal Contractor to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Monitor working practices of MEH employees and contractors regarding health and safety, environment, and welfare.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Significant relevant construction experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
  • IT literate - familiar with Microsoft packages.
  • NEBOSH general certificate / NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
  • Health and Safety Diploma or working towards.
