Job Title: Advanced Healthcare Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Healthcare Practitioner to join our Paediatric Ambulatory team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Paediatric Consultants to provide expert care for patients undergoing day case and ongoing medical treatment plans. With clinical support and appropriate training, there will be opportunities to develop skills and carry out extended roles that are relevant to the Paediatric Ambulatory Unit.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert care for a complex caseload of patients, accepting professional and legal responsibility and accountability for all aspects of own work.
  • Develop skills in and carry out extended roles, including advanced clinical assessment, making referrals to other healthcare professionals, insertion of PICC lines, and performing lumbar punctures.
  • Contribute to strategic planning within the department and contribute to the education of the multi-disciplinary team and departmental research, audit and quality improvement programmes as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • NMC Part 1 (Children)
  • MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner
  • Current experience of clinical nursing practice in a relevant care setting.
