Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a Cost Management Specialist to join our team focused on the Wiltshire Highways Term Maintenance contract.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our Commercial Team, tasked with overseeing the financial aspects of highway maintenance operations throughout Wiltshire. Your primary objective will be to safeguard and enhance the company's financial interests by managing commercial functions in accordance with contractual obligations.
The Wiltshire Highways Maintenance Contract is designed to provide essential maintenance and enhancement services for various highway assets, including safety repairs, drainage, footway upgrades, grass maintenance, street lighting, and seasonal services. Our operations are supported by a dedicated workforce across multiple depots and a network of local and national partners. The commercial team plays a crucial role in ensuring that all completed works are accurately measured and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee commercial activities related to highway maintenance projects
- Assist in managing subcontractor accounts, including evaluating payment requests and issuing payment notifications
- Generate and analyze cost and value reports in collaboration with the Managing Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager
- Engage in monthly Cost Value Reconciliation meetings with Commercial and Operational teams
- Ensure compliance with Milestone Infrastructure's Commercial Guide and corporate standards
- Support the preparation of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events as directed by the Managing Quantity Surveyor
- Manage change control procedures for contractors and subcontractors
- Provide necessary information and responses to client audit inquiries
- Price Compensation Events as required
- Perform additional commercial tasks and technical administration as needed
- Conduct site visits and measurements
- Offer Quantity Surveying support to other divisions within Milestone Infrastructure as instructed
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiarity with Causeway Project Accounting and HIAMS is advantageous
- Experience in highway maintenance, particularly under NEC contract frameworks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively organize workload, maintain a systematic approach, and demonstrate analytical thinking
- Capable of questioning and verifying information
- Skilled in building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
