Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Medical/Stroke Rehabilitation ward at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Our 15-bedded ward provides care to a variety of medical cases and stroke rehabilitation patients, with occasional use for minor, non-complex, short-stay surgical patients.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized, safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care.
- Ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring, and safe environment for patients and their families.
- Participate in the efficient operational management of the department and undertake shift leading responsibility on a regular basis.
- Deputize for the Ward Manager and Deputy Ward Manager.
- Undertake tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Ward Manager, supporting the management and development of the nursing care and the delivery of the service.
- Undertake the Duty Manager role.
Person Specification
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with a valid NMC registration.
- Diploma/degree in a relevant subject.
- Post-registration qualification in stroke or acute medicine or demonstrate relevant experience and competency in the area of specialties.
- 2 years post-registration experience in one of the specialties of the ward.
Desirable
- Experience of shift management and leading a team.
- Evidence of ongoing training and commitment to development.
