Underwriting & Completions Specialist

Job Summary
This is a key role within the Underwriting department of OSB Group, a reputable specialist mortgage lender. The team focuses on assessing lending risk and ensuring adherence to operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Progress mortgage applications to completion within the assigned mandate level
- Review and respond to post-offer correspondence for long-term lending applications in a timely manner
- Deliver high-quality service to brokers, solicitors, and customers
- Control release of completion funds and liaise with Legal & Compliance
- Use personal lending mandate appropriately with sound rationale
- Communicate with intermediaries and handle objections
- Provide telephone support as required and manage escalations
Requirements
- Knowledge of regulations for Commercial/Semi Comm/BTL mortgages
- Previous experience in mortgage administration or underwriting
- Experience in conducting solicitor audits and KPI management
- Supervisory and training skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
