Job Description

Castlegate Financial Management Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to join our team as Managing Director, leading the charge in shaping the future and continued growth of our wealth management services.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations, including client and portfolio development, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and team leadership. You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that service levels meet both company and client expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring that service levels meet both company and client expectations.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to attract new clients and identify growth opportunities with existing clients.
  • Cultivating and managing relationships with existing and new providers to ensure our clients have the best possible terms and service.

As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively participating in the Group Operations Board to develop, guide, and achieve our business strategy.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and informing the Group Operations Board about internal and external issues and implementing strategies to address these issues.
  • Developing and managing the service line leadership team, ensuring that objectives are met in all areas.
  • Attending events and acting as spokesperson for your service line.
  • Promoting strong relationships across the Duncan & Toplis group and with the Kreston Global network.

Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance:

  • Implementing and upholding robust governance structures and comprehensive risk management practices.
  • Ensuring full adherence to FCA regulations to maintain the firm's integrity and operational excellence.
  • Expertise in ensuring the firm's operations and practices are fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

Operational planning and management:

  • Fostering a culture that aligns with our group purpose, vision, and values: Trust, Inclusivity, and Partnership.
  • Overseeing the efficient and effective day-to-day operations.
  • Ensuring that all operations meet with or exceed expectations.
  • Mentoring, developing, and managing the performance of team members, setting clear goals and objectives and providing regular support and feedback.
  • Overseeing client relationship management.

Financial performance:

  • Overseeing and optimizing the firm's financial performance, strategically guiding the organization to consistently meet or surpass its financial objectives and targets.
  • Working with the group CFO to prepare annual financial budgets.
  • Providing monthly reports to the financial planning team and the Group Operations Board.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles, focused on engagement leadership emotional intelligence, and motivating and guiding others.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective growth strategies, provide strategic insights, and direction for the company to move in.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders, colleagues, and clients.
  • Deep knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and wealth management practices, with extensive and proven industry experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FCA regulations and other relevant financial legislation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Possession of professional certifications at a minimum of Level 4, such as the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), is highly desirable. Additionally, holding designations like Chartered Financial Planner or Certified Financial Planner would be particularly advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license.
