Oncology Physician

We are seeking an experienced and skilled doctor to join our team as a Specialty Doctor in Oncology. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care to patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatments at our Medical Day Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Clinical Care: Deliver exceptional day-to-day clinical care to patients attending the Medical Day Unit under the care of specific consultants.
- Ensure Consultant Involvement: Keep Medical Consultants informed of patient progress at all times.
- Prescribe Treatments: Prescribe systemic oncology treatments as per the consultant's treatment plan for individual patients.
- Contribute to Clinics: Contribute to and lead outpatient and prescription clinics as required.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work effectively with nursing, pharmacy, and front-of-house teams to achieve an excellent streamlined service for patients and their relatives.
- Manage Incidents: Manage acute clinical incidents on the medical day unit.
- Provide Support: Take phone calls from patients and their families, answering any questions they may have regarding their disease, treatment, or side effects.
- Professional Development: Undergo annual appraisal to assess performance and promote personal development.
- Reporting: Provide current and timely medical reports.
- Service Development: Work effectively as part of the medical day unit teams to contribute to the development of the service.
- Private Care: Carry out all duties related to private care as required.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date evidence-based information through regular continuous professional development.
- Teaching and Training: Provide teaching to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff on the unit as required.
- Compliance: Comply with all clinical and non-clinical mandatory training required by the Trust.
