Ready, Willing & Able is SeeAbility's supported employment initiative aimed at empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism to fulfill their career aspirations. Our mission is to assist individuals in finding and securing paid employment while collaborating with businesses to foster inclusive hiring practices that allow these individuals to demonstrate their unique talents and capabilities. We work closely with both our participants and employers to ensure a supportive workplace environment.

Our initiative is actively seeking businesses in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire region that are dedicated to cultivating genuinely inclusive workplaces and are willing to provide paid employment opportunities for our participants. As a volunteer, your primary responsibility will be to engage with and convert employers into partners for our program, assisting our coaches in enhancing engagement with potential employers and raising awareness about the benefits of hiring individuals with learning disabilities and autism.

Responsibilities

We are in search of an Employer Engagement Volunteer who embodies our values, champions diversity in the workforce, and is passionate about inclusion. This individual will share our conviction that paid employment is both positive and attainable for everyone and will actively seek new opportunities across various sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

Actively identifying employers who may be interested in hiring participants from our program or collaborating with us to create inclusive workplaces. Engaging directly with employers to communicate the advantages of hiring individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Collaborating with supported employment coaches to nurture these relationships, facilitating the placement of participants in paid roles within these organizations. Required Skills Familiarity with the local job market in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Confidence and ability to effectively communicate the benefits of supported employment to employers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and online research. Capability to utilize MS Teams and Zoom for virtual meetings. Reliability and consistency in your commitments.

Please note that applicants must be over the age of 18 . To ensure the safety of those we support, a DBS check and two satisfactory references will be required prior to confirming a volunteer role. Additionally, as you will be working directly with vulnerable individuals, safeguarding training and any role-specific training will be mandatory.
