Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Officer, you will collaborate across the regulation division on various projects, gaining extensive experience. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Registering new higher education institutions aiming to enter the sector
  • Evaluating institutions' strategies to enhance access and participation for underrepresented demographics
  • Executing funded initiatives such as Uni Connect
  • Investigating and assessing adherence to our registration conditions and intervening in students' best interests
  • Formulating and implementing policy reforms to elevate quality and standards as well as promote equal opportunities
  • Enhancing our systems that provide services to educational providers

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding students' interests
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape relevant to the OfS's operations and an understanding of regulatory decision-making processes
  • Ability to articulate complex strategic and operational information clearly and concisely, employing appropriate grammar and style
  • Proficiency in planning and managing your workload, addressing competing priorities, and adapting flexibly to changing demands
  • Capability to cultivate positive working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels

The primary role of the regulation division is to develop and implement the OfS's regulatory framework. We design and deliver high-quality services for market entry, degree-awarding powers, and university titles, while also overseeing the continuous monitoring of registered providers.
