Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Nuclear Fire Safety Evaluator to contribute to our major projects.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Nuclear Fire Safety Evaluator, you will play a crucial role in nuclear fire safety assessments to support various projects. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting project leads in radiation transport as needed.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Profession to develop capabilities and implement resource strategies.
  • Preparing and coordinating assessments and analyses for projects, ensuring effective communication with engineering and project management teams.
  • Providing guidance to Amentum leadership and clients on regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Supporting safety case assurance throughout project and corporate requirements.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A degree or equivalent education.
  • Demonstrated experience in nuclear fire safety assessment and conventional fire safety management.
  • Familiarity with codes and assessments across various operations and fault scenarios.
  • Experience with UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organizations.
  • Knowledge of conventional fire safety assessment practices.
  • Experience in managing teams and contractors.
  • Understanding of nuclear hazard identification tools.
  • Solid grasp of UK nuclear site licensing and safety assessment principles.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance and willingness to pursue Developed Vetting.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including report writing.
Desirable Attributes:
Experience in safety cases within civil reactors or the defense sector, knowledge of UK nuclear new builds, and project management experience are advantageous.
