About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Substance Misuse Practitioner to join our established Essex Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team (EYPDAS) in supporting young people aged 8-25 who are using or misusing substances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young people, young adults, and families affected by substance use.
  • Deliver one-to-one face-to-face interventions, targeted group work, and online support across the County.
  • Facilitate training around substances for statutory and voluntary agencies across the County.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience in working with vulnerable young people, either in a paid or unpaid capacity.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with groups of young people to raise awareness about substance use and associated risks.
  • Experience of carrying out individual and group work interventions with young people and adults.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant data systems.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and contribute to a multi-agency approach.
  • Full UK driver's license and access to own transport.
