About the Role

This position is an exciting opportunity to work in a metal recycling shredder plant, assisting with maintaining fixed plant machinery to best practice standards and ensuring production runs at the highest possible level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to plant breakdowns and assist in their correction.
  • Provide technical support to Supervisors in plant operation.
  • Contribute to maintaining plant availability and production at the highest possible level.
  • Take personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Requirements
  • Any qualification in mechanical engineering or welding & fabrication.
  • Experience in medium to heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
What We Offer
  • Overtime and weekends regularly available.
  • Basic rate of £17.45 / hour paid weekly (Basic annual £42k, average £55k+).
  • Premium Shift Rate x1.33 for Nights.
  • Overtime Shift Rate x1.5 for Saturdays, x2 for Sundays.
Additional Benefits
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays.

Working with Us

As a member of the Avonmouth engineering team, you will be supervised by a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager. The shift pattern includes 2 weeks of days (40 hours, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday) and 2 weeks of nights (40 hours, 10 hr shifts, Monday – Thursday).
