We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical and Food Safety Lead to join our team at McCain Foods. As a key member of our Quality and Food Safety team, you will be responsible for leading the Hull plant in Food Safety, ensuring all systems, culture, and product standards meet both McCain and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a culture of accountability and a right-first-time approach to food safety
- Implement food safety pre-requisites, systems, and leading indicators to manage food safety and drive continuous improvement
- Work with QA Management to ensure effective process control is in place to measure FTQ and drive continuous improvement
- Comply with customer and McCain standards and lead the evolution of sensory requirements
- Develop people capability, succession planning, and engagement
- Ensure systems meet customer and McCain requirements, audit compliance, best practice, shared learnings, and continuous improvement
- Act as the Site Element Owner for the McCain Global Programme
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and advice as the business partner to the Plant Manager
- Work closely with the R&D team on new product development and execution
- Manage key customer relationships
- Lead on all new supplier activity
- Own the internal audit process
- Be responsible for product, environment, and materials (packaging/ingredients)
- Host customer and regulatory audits
- Ensure sensory requirements are understood and communicated to the sensory team
- Identify internal technical training needs
- Coordinate the transfer of knowledge and collaborate with NPD and internal teams and stakeholders
- Attend line trials and be responsible for approval and sign-off from a food safety perspective
- Continuously assess food safety risks and resolve issues
- Own the HACCP team and drive improvement in standards
- Lead the site for FSQ for crisis management
