Job Summary

Headway Adolescent Resources Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Specialist to join our team in a children's residential home. As a key member of our staff, you will work with young people with challenging behavior, providing a high standard of childcare and support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized care and support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of each young person are met.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive living environment.

Requirements

  • A full manual driving license.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, maintaining accurate records and meeting statutory and policy requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Empathetic nature, with the ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Will to work towards a fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified).
