Our client is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical projects services, supporting industrial clients with building and technical services.

They specialize in installing Power, Lighting, Piping, and HVAC systems for Blue Chip clients, offering a wide range of products and components for various projects.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with project experience to join their team in Derby.

This role involves working as the primary Design Engineer, collaborating with the internal project management team to deliver projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing mechanical designs for guarding, safety circuits, air extraction units, walkways, and whole HVAC systems for industrial and commercial premises.
  • Ensuring designs meet fabrication and installation requirements.
  • Conducting area/asset surveys and updating existing designs to comply with new legislation.
  • Providing technical support and expertise to the project team.
  • Communicating effectively with installation teams and management to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Supporting the estimating team with sourcing quotes from suppliers.
  • Using Revit and AutoCAD 2D for design tasks.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mechanical qualification (BTEC, NVQ3, or HNC).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Revit or a similar 3D package.
  • Ability to confidently design in 3D and create 3D models from scratch.
  • Ability to learn industry-relevant design standards.
