The Role: Machine Learning Engineer - Delivery Network Optimization

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge machine learning solutions that power Deliveroo's delivery network. You'll work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design and build systems that make automated decisions at scale.

Your Impact:

  • Optimize our delivery network by making intelligent rider assignment decisions, predicting delivery leg durations, and mitigating real-time delays.
  • Enhance our simulation capabilities to accurately predict the impact of algorithmic changes on our delivery network.
  • Refine consumer and rider fees for optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Collaboration & Projects:

You'll collaborate with teams working on a wide range of projects, including:

  • Improving the user experience by personalizing recommendations and optimizing order routing.
  • Developing predictive models to forecast demand and optimize resource allocation.
  • Building data-driven tools to enhance operational efficiency and customer support.

Skills & Qualifications:

We're looking for a talented individual with a strong foundation in machine learning principles and practical experience in developing and deploying ML models. You should have:

  • A deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
  • Experience working with large datasets and data processing tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
