About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Servicing & Repair Professional to join our team at First Bus. As a PSV/HGV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Inspection & Repair: Conduct thorough inspections of HGV/PSV vehicles to identify faults and determine the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
  • Servicing & Maintenance: Perform routine servicing and maintenance tasks, including vehicle servicing and examinations using handheld data capture devices.
  • Breakdown & Recovery: Assist in on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries, and conduct vehicle road testing to identify specific defects or after repairs.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess required skills in PCV Mechanical, Electrical & Body Repair, and be familiar with vehicle systems overhaul and repair, including engines, gearboxes, drive trains, and various systems.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification and have experience with HGV/PSV vehicles.
  • Skills & Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about workshop equipment operation and diagnostic tools, and have experience with gas and electric welding, burning, and basic body repairs.
  • Training & Development: Be willing to undergo manufacturer product training, vehicle inspection, and recovery sessions, even if overnight stays are involved.
