The GE Aviation Site Quality Leader will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of product safety, quality, and compliance that the GE Aviation business holds itself to, and accordingly, the position will be a nominated position that requires regulatory concurrence.
Key Responsibilities- Investigation and Guidance: Oversee the investigation of customer queries and provide guidance on corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with national and international regulatory requirements, including those related to safety management systems and quality management systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive proactive continuous improvement through the analysis of performance data and in line with the network Safety Management System (SMS) objectives and plans.
- Zero-Defect Culture: Own and drive the implementation of a Zero-Defect Culture and Proactive Quality for GE Aviation operations.
- Lean Transformation: Support the Lean Transformation in GE Aviation Quality operations, providing subject matter expertise on methods and tools such as Problem Solving and SMS methodology.
- Customer Partnerships: Partner with customer teams and directly with customers on quality improvements to enhance the customer experience.
- Quality Tool Maturation: Drive the maturation of advanced quality tools in GE Aviation operations.
- Reporting and Leadership: Report to the site accountable manager and global Quality Leader on relevant aspects of the company audit program through the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Team Leadership: Lead an experienced team of quality professionals.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Provide continuous coaching and mentoring to the quality and other business teams.
- Performance Metrics: Ensure performance to Key Performance Indicators in delivered and process quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strong regulatory and quality system compliance.
- Regulatory Approvals: Maintain company-held Regulatory Agency/National Aviation Authority (NAA) approvals and the associated Maintenance Organisation Expositions (MOE)/Supplements.
- Supplier Quality: Oversight of the supplier quality system, and materials purchasing and contracting support.
- Work Privileges: Oversight and maintenance of the work away from site privilege (as required).
- Certifying Process: Procedural and regulatory oversight of the certifying process and associated qualifications and approvals of company personnel holding Certifying Staff authorisations.
- Company Policies: Controllership, approval, and maintenance of the site company policies and procedure structure.
- Education and Qualifications: A relevant engineering or technical degree or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification and additional education.
- Safety Management Systems: A good understanding of safety management systems and compliance monitoring, including quality management system structures, policies, and frameworks.
- Safety Training: Proficient in safety training, including Human Factors, and Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
- Product Safety: Demonstrable evidence of managing product safety-related issues/escapes and investigation practices such as hazard identification, risk assessment, containment, root cause identification, permanent preventative action, and auditing methods.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of the CAA/EASA/FAA and other NAA regulatory environments and compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with the teams to identify systemic quality improvements within the organization and develop robust defenses, including through Product Safety Review Boards (PSRBs).
- Travel: Ability to travel - 20% (domestic and international).
- Leadership and Communication: An open and humble approach, and the ability to foster productive working relationships and provide clear support and guidance where complex regulatory and policy specialities apply to staff duties and business needs is essential.
- Program and Project Management: Strong program and project management skills.
