Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Queens Hotel - Cheltenham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of junior chefs and kitchen staff
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of classical and modern cuisine, with a focus on seasonal ingredients
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train junior staff
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
