Job Summary

About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be working on a range of projects across the nuclear sector, including SMR and AMR programmes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing structural integrity solutions for complex structures and components
  • Representing the business in technical meetings with clients and third parties
  • Interfacing with customers throughout the lifecycle of projects
  • Producing high-quality technical reports on the outcome of your work
  • Designing and analyzing complex structures and components using finite element analysis and relevant codes and standards
  • Checking and verifying the work of other team members
  • Assisting in maintaining the technical capability and knowledge of the team
  • Delivering work to time, cost, and quality to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Chartered Engineer or Scientist qualification in a relevant discipline
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Industrial experience and professional accreditation to IEng/CEng or working towards
  • A sound structural integrity background, preferably with experience in delivering projects in the nuclear sector
  • Excellent communication skills to enable you to interact with clients, understand their needs, and support bidding and project delivery
  • Experience of structural integrity project delivery
  • Experience in responding to tender requests
  • Proficient in the application of structural design codes such as ASME, Eurocodes, and British Standards
  • Curiosity, a questioning attitude, and analytical skills to drive innovative solutions
