Overview of the Position

We are seeking to hire an Associate with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience to enhance our dynamic team.

This is a unique chance to be part of our Projects, Energy, and Infrastructure division, recognized for delivering exceptional legal services across various sectors including infrastructure (transportation, social infrastructure, and technology) and energy (renewable resources, natural resources, and mining).

Key Responsibilities

The team represents a wide array of stakeholders including sponsors, multilateral institutions, developers, equity investors, financial institutions, governments, contractors, utilities, and regulatory authorities in the procurement, development, financing, acquisition, construction, and operation of complex infrastructure and energy projects across various regions.

By joining a leader in the energy and natural resources field, you will receive mentorship from Partners and Legal Directors committed to your professional development. You will engage in a diverse range of international projects.

Your responsibilities will encompass advising both private and public sector clients, funders, and consortia on project financing across all sectors. This includes structuring, drafting, and negotiating financing agreements up to financial closure, as well as providing ongoing support during the construction and operational phases.

Additionally, you will have the chance to actively participate in business development initiatives, including networking events and assisting in the creation of pitch materials.

Candidate Profile

While we do not impose strict PQE requirements, we suggest that candidates with 2-4 years of experience are likely to possess the necessary knowledge and skills for this role. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor, preferably in England & Wales or a Commonwealth jurisdiction;
  • Have experience in drafting and negotiating various finance documents, including common terms agreements and intercreditor arrangements, with minimal supervision;
  • Possess experience with development financial institutions and export credit agencies;
  • Demonstrate a history of assisting in complex multi-jurisdictional matters;
  • Exhibit excellent technical legal drafting capabilities;
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for the firm, including repeat business;
  • Build and nurture a network of internal and external contacts;
  • Be commercially aware and stay informed on key legal and business developments;
  • Showcase strong communication, client relations, and teamwork skills;
  • Be proactive in recognizing business development opportunities within the department;
  • Maintain a composed, objective, and adaptable approach under pressure;
  • Exhibit a proactive and innovative mindset.
