Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits, analysing electronic circuits, and generating requirements for electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits using industry-standard tools and techniques.
  • Analyse electronic circuits to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Generate requirements for electronic systems, including specifications and technical documentation.
  • Capture schematics and designs using CAD software.
  • Provide PCB layout advice and review to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Select and review components to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Take on varied engineering tasks to support projects and programs, including circuit simulation and wiring definition.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to discuss project progress and technical issues.
  • Interface with customers on technical and project issues, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Document your work in line with local operating procedures, ensuring accurate and complete records.
  • Take an active role in Continuous Improvement, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Quick learner with a flexible and adaptable approach, able to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and techniques, including PCB layout supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of analogue and digital design, including circuit simulation and wiring definition.
  • Experience with schematic capture and drawing review, using industry-standard tools and techniques.
  • Circuit simulation experience, including the use of simulation software.
  • Wiring definition experience, including the creation of wiring diagrams and documentation.
  • Understanding of PCB layout supervision, including the review and approval of PCB designs.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
