Job Summary:
KBR is seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer to join our team. As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a comprehensive Cost Engineering framework and service for the Major Project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the cost framework, systems, and resources to deliver an effective cost control and reporting service to Project Managers and Sponsors.
- Prepare, monitor, and forecast baselines during all project phases, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Prepare, monitor, and forecast expenditure profiles and provide accruals where needed, maintaining financial discipline and control.
- Prepare cost reports, including earned value analysis, identifying critical areas and trends, and recommend recovery options to ensure project success.
- Maintain the cost control database and validate data across systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Ensure all commitments are recorded and maintain forecasts within approved financial limits, upholding financial governance.
- Maintain an estimate of the outturn value of the project and prepare the EAC for review and approval, providing critical financial insights.
- Provide the required information to support the risk process, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Provide project outturns against baseline for LFE and Knowledge Management, delivering valuable insights and recommendations.
- Mentor and support Assistant Cost Engineers in their development, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders, upholding transparency and trust.
- Highlight current and potential issues to the Senior Cost Engineer, Lead Cost Engineer, PCM, and Project Manager, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
- Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures, and Project Execution Plans, upholding regulatory and governance requirements.
- Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Project Controls, driving excellence and innovation.
- Work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan and all appropriate SLMS documents and protocols, upholding a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
