Job Overview

Are you seeking a fulfilling career within the NHS?

Our Versatile Patient Services Support Specialists play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and providing ward-level food and beverage services throughout the Trust.

All positions will involve evening shifts, typically starting from 4pm onwards, with some shifts from 14:00 to 22:00 (please note that there are no daytime vacancies available).

Compensation - £ per hour, with additional enhancements for unsocial hours where applicable.

Please specify in your application which site you are available to work at, as we have roles at both Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

All roles will require undertaking a variety of domestic tasks, such as upholding a high standard of cleanliness using modern cleaning techniques and equipment, with comprehensive training provided.

At times, the role may involve cleaning bodily fluids and barrier cleaning, and once proficient, you will be expected to mentor new staff members.

Multi-skilled personnel will receive dual training, enabling them to also fulfill the duties of Food and Beverage Assistants. This position will involve serving meals to patients at the ward level, with full training provided, including Food Safety Level 2. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of the patient meal service, including serving meals at the ward and ensuring the ward kitchen remains organized and all kitchen equipment is sanitized.

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE English & Maths at a minimum of Grade D, or equivalent, or relevant experience demonstrating competency to this level.

Basic Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Training. Customer Service Qualification.

Experience

Experience in a customer-focused environment.

Desirable

Experience in housekeeping within a public sector environment. Experience in a healthcare setting.
