About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses in meeting the identified needs of children, young people, and families.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, care, and treatment to young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or relevant clinical experience.
  • Health Care Support Worker Certificate - Children's and Young People's mental health in patient setting.
  • Experience of working in a clinical environment, either hospital or social care setting.
  • Experience of working in a patient-facing environment.
  • Basic IT skills, including competency in using MS Word and Email.
  • Ability to work with children and young people and support their families.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working.
  • Ability to show initiative and take on own responsibility and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately record in notes.
  • Relationship building and interpersonal skills.
