About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic team in the Liaison Psychiatry service at Torbay District General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in contributing to the mental health care of people in the general hospital.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a professional mental health qualification and significant post-qualifying experience in a mental health setting. You will be responsible for assessing and managing referrals, working with a wide range of stakeholders, and contributing to the development of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage referrals from colleagues within the Royal Devon and Exeter University Hospital
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, service users, and carers
  • Contribute to the development of mental health services, including policy and service development
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff
  • Participate in research and development, and contribute to the implementation of new practices and policies

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a professional mental health qualification, significant post-qualifying experience, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be committed to ongoing professional development.
