Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

FPG is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team in the Bristol region. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our clients in the telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients via phone, email, and on-site visits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to optical networks, cellular networks, and other telecommunications technologies.
  • Conduct thorough testing and produce detailed test documentation and reports.
  • Administer and execute turnkey projects.
  • Experience with remote network management platforms and Cisco hardware is highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in optical networks and related hardware.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as optical power meters, light sources, BERTs, cellular scanners, and multimeters.
  • Understanding of cellular RTE, routing and switching protocols, and network synchronization.
  • Ability to conduct thorough testing and produce detailed test documentation and reports.
  • Project management skills and experience with remote network management platforms.
  • Cisco hardware and configuration experience, ideally with CCNA certification or in the process of obtaining it.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and training abilities.
  • Flexibility to travel for fieldwork when necessary and willingness to perform field activities as required.
