Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Position Overview: As a Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, you will work within a specialized educational environment, assisting students with various challenges, including Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Sensory & Communication Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students in both small group settings and one-on-one interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the classroom teacher and fellow support staff.
  • Assist in managing student behavior and emotions to facilitate a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Engage with external professionals and parents as necessary.
  • Document student progress and report any incidents appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 months recent experience as a teaching assistant in a UK educational setting, supported by references.
  • Teaching assistant qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and professional reference checks.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work full-time in the UK.
