ABOUT PROSPERO TEACHING
Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled Special Educational Needs Support Assistant who has experience working with students facing profound and multiple learning challenges. This role is also suitable for support workers who are equipped to assist these individuals.
In this position, you will be providing support to children aged 11 and above, who present a variety of additional needs, often categorized as complex.
Alongside their learning challenges, the students in this environment may have various medical requirements, including conditions such as epilepsy, respiratory issues, and the need for tube feeding.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual who can offer support to children on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.
Our organization is conveniently located and easily accessible via public transport.
This opportunity is open to all qualified Special Educational Needs Support Assistants and support workers with relevant experience in a similar capacity.
Depending on performance, there may be opportunities for contract extension or a permanent position.POSITION DETAILS
Position - Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Type of work - Classroom and SEN support
Contract type - Temporary with potential for permanence
Full time/part time - Full time
Working hours - 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND QUALIFICATIONS
A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred
GCSEs in Maths and English, along with computer literacy
Recent safeguarding training completed within the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING,
YOU MUST:
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references related to child care that cover at least the last two years
