We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bridging Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting short-term property finance, with a deep understanding of the bridging loans market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and underwrite bridging loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and risk appetite.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on applicants, including credit checks, property valuations, and financial assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with brokers, clients, and internal teams to facilitate a smooth underwriting process.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to the credit committee.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Underwriter in the bridging loans or short-term finance sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of property finance and the UK lending market.
  • Ability to assess complex financial information and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, banking, or a related field are desirable.
