Job Summary
The Head of Clinical Services provides strategic direction to ensure the hospital delivers high-quality patient care in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and direction to all clinical staff, including nursing, allied health professionals, and medical staff.
- Support clinical leads and their departments, and be accountable for the performance of all clinical services.
- Ensure knowledge of clinical and professional developments, in accordance with the NMC revalidation process and HCPC/GPC standards.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management team to create and deliver the hospital's strategic, operational, and business development plan.
- Investigate and report adverse incidents, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure all clinical policies are up-to-date and reflective of the business.
- Monitor and manage the Hospital Risk Register.
- Participate in hospital cover and manager on-call rotas.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing clinical services within a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in healthcare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration or related field (preferred).
- Certification in Healthcare Management or relevant field (desired).
- Registered Nurse Level 1 or Registered Practitioner/Diploma/Relevant Health Specialty Degree/Degree Level qualification.
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance frameworks and Quality assurance tools.
