Job Title: Biomedical Scientist - Haematology Training Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology team as a Training Lead. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, with excellent training and coaching skills.

The role will involve leading the development of competency assessments for all grades of staff to meet the standards of ISO 15189:2012/2022 accreditation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for auditing portfolios and coordinating other BMS educational activities.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Haematology, Coagulation, and Blood Transfusion, as well as experience in training and development. They will be able to demonstrate an aptitude for encouraging staff development and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of competency assessments for all grades of staff
  • Audit portfolios and coordinate other BMS educational activities
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff
  • Monitor and record results, and advise on the correct interpretation of results
  • Follow departmental maintenance protocols to ensure equipment performs at an optimal level
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree and HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Fellowship of IBMS, MSc or equivalent
  • Participation in a CPD scheme
  • IBMS Training Management Qualification or equivalent experience
