In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) division, we are at the forefront of transforming heart disease treatment through innovative medical technologies aimed at atrial fibrillation, empowering individuals to regain their health and continue their lives.

We are seeking a Country Financial Controller to collaborate with the Commercial Country Leader and Regional Controller, taking charge of the financial trajectory for the designated regions (UK & Ireland), with comprehensive oversight of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement.

This position will serve as a vital business partner to both commercial and financial leadership, ensuring adherence to all pertinent internal and external financial standards, fostering compliant bottom-line management, and supervising all value creation initiatives (including incentive plans, hiring, payroll, etc.) within the country scope.

This role can be based in either Maidenhead or Solihull.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in a comparable fast-paced position within a corporate setting (experience in medtech is a plus).
  • Proven financial influencing capabilities at the management level, with a history of effective business partnering and driving change among peers and leaders.
  • Expertise in handling large datasets and utilizing data analysis tools. Proficient in Excel, with experience in data-cube systems (Hyperion, Dodeca, etc.).
  • Strong background in accounting and compliance.
  • Ambitious and inquisitive, with a focus on process enhancement.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the formulation and execution of all LBE commitments throughout the year, ensuring robust operational discipline for all finance-related processes across the organization.
  • Guarantee complete financial compliance for all activities within scope.
  • Identify data requirements to support decision-making and effectively partner with commercial leadership.
  • Deliver ongoing standard analysis across all levels of the P&L, focusing on revenue, margin, and operating expenses. Develop mitigation strategies as necessary to address risks.
  • Proactively explore new perspectives on results and commitments. Collaborate closely with the regional leadership team to enhance value creation through FP&A efforts and identify specific projects to further drive value.
  • Take ownership of all tasks that directly impact the P&L, engaging experts across various groups and functions to support their understanding.
