About the Role

Purbeck Health Centre is excited to announce an opening for a Receptionist to become a vital part of our team on a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In this pivotal front-line position, receptionists play a crucial role in assisting patients to navigate our services, maintaining accurate health records, and ensuring efficient management of appointment scheduling.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and guide all patients upon arrival.
  • Schedule appointments and distribute appointment cards as necessary.
  • Handle prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, and other relevant documents.
  • Address requests for information and manage any issues or complaints.
  • Inform patients about practice procedures.
  • Enroll new patients into the system.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries promptly.
About the Candidate

We are seeking a dedicated receptionist to join our dynamic practice team and contribute positively to our community. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:

  • Strong communication abilities, with a courteous and clear telephone demeanor.
  • Capacity to work in a respectful, confidential, and discreet manner, prioritizing patient dignity.
  • Experience interacting with the public, demonstrating sensitivity and empathy in challenging situations.
  • Confidence to collaborate effectively within a team and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Proficient IT and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception role is preferred.

Flexibility is essential, as there may be occasions requiring additional or alternative hours to support colleagues.
