About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team as a Community Healthcare Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing professional leadership and clinical supervision to our Home 1st Therapists, ensuring high standards of care and effective team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Clinical Supervision: Provide professional leadership and clinical supervision to the Home 1st Therapists, ensuring high standards of care and effective team performance.
- Interdisciplinary Assessments: Coordinate interdisciplinary assessments to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and readmissions across various settings.
- Therapy Assessments and Treatment: Conduct advanced therapy assessments and deliver treatment to service users.
- Expert Clinical Advice: Offer expert clinical advice and support for complex hospital discharges.
- Team Support: Provide professional and personal support to Home 1st staff, fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Specialised Therapy Treatments: Implement specialised therapy treatments and programmes, using analytical and judgement skills to address therapy-related issues.
- Consent and Capacity: Obtain valid informed consent and work within legal frameworks for individuals lacking capacity to consent.
- Family and Carer Involvement: Encourage family and carer involvement in decision-making and planning of care objectives.
- Team Policies: Develop and amend team policies that impact the multidisciplinary team.
- Team Management: Support the therapy team in daily management tasks, including recruitment, appraisals, and performance management.
- Equipment and Training: Ensure the safe and competent use of all equipment, initiate regular audits, and oversee training and competency evaluations for unqualified staff.
- Client Records: Maintain and update client records using an electronic database.
- Work Allocation: Monitor, prioritise, and allocate work across the therapy team.
- Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with healthcare organisations to improve services and achieve organisational objectives.
- CQC Compliance: Lead on CQC activities in partnership with the team, ensuring compliance with NICE guidance.
- Clinical and HR Policies: Understand and implement clinical and HR policies and procedures within our organisation.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Coordinate duty rotas, annual leave, and training schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Policies and Procedures: Adhere to and enforce all agreed policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
- Experience: Recent UK experience within community physiotherapy
- Registration: Registered with the HCPC as a physiotherapist to work in the UK
- NHS Experience: NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
