About the Role

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Governance and Assurance Midwife to join our Maternity and Neonatal Services team. As a valued member of our governance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Governance and Assurance Managers in managing governance, assurance, and compliance workload.
  • Approve, manage, and close DATIX incidents.
  • Assist with the management of incidents and contribute to completing gap analysis and action plans.
  • Collate information for senior directorate management team, including dashboard data.
  • Be actively involved in the patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF) implementation.
  • Share lessons learned with the wider directorate.
  • Assist with Duty of Candour requirements.
  • Contribute to updating risk registers.
PMRT Lead Midwife Responsibilities
  • Assist with the completion of the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) for all eligible stillbirths and neonatal deaths.
  • Contribute to collating papers for a multi-disciplinary review of PMRT cases and publish those cases as needed.
  • Assist the governance team in collating and monitoring issues arising from PMRT cases.

Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current UK NMC pin number.
  • Diploma/Degree in Midwifery.
  • Knowledge and experience in all areas of maternity services.
