Cybersecurity Risk & Controls Specialist – Salary approximately £40,000

Overview of the Role:

As a vital member of the CISO GRC (Chief Information Security Officer - Governance, Risk, and Controls) team, you will contribute significantly to fostering, developing, and maintaining a robust Risk and Governance culture throughout our CISO division.

Your responsibilities will encompass a range of activities aimed at delivering first-line operational governance and oversight across CISO, as well as providing assistance to our Cyber Risk division, including issue management and oversight for collaborative business activities.

Collaborating within a compact team of knowledgeable professionals, you will ensure that mechanisms are established to monitor and evaluate control effectiveness for our essential applications and services. You will work closely with CISO application teams and subject matter experts, offering guidance and support in the application of local control requirements and the collection of control assessment evidence. Your role will also involve data monitoring and reporting, including a monthly review of Operational Effectiveness Management Information and related commentary to ensure that action plans are implemented as necessary. Additionally, you will prepare materials and reports for key oversight forums attended by CISO Operational Leads and the CISO Leadership Team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with IT and/or security control frameworks is advantageous.
  • Experience in operational risk management and control evaluation.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis and Reporting, including the ability to analyze data to provide insights and recommendations, as well as developing and managing dashboards and reports for senior management.

  • Salary approximately £40,000 (subject to location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
