Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Childbase Partnership as an Apprentice in our Nursery on the Green Day Nursery. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in childcare and education while working towards a recognized qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our team to create a safe and supportive learning environment for children.
  • Plan and implement activities to enhance children's development and learning.
  • Interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Adhere to nursery routines and policies, seeking guidance from leadership as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to submit coursework by deadlines.

Qualifications and Benefits

  • Gain a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner qualification or an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Practitioner) qualification.
  • Level 2 functional skills qualifications in maths and English, if not already held.
  • Paediatric first aid qualification.
  • Permanent contract and appointment as a qualified Nursery Nurse upon completion.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time role (37.5 hours a week) working with children under 5.
  • Varying shift pattern, usually between 07:15am-18:30pm Monday-Friday.
  • 'Off the job' learning time within the working week.
  • Childcare trainer/assessor support from our in-house Training Academy of Excellence.
  • Group training sessions with other apprentices.

  • Hourly pay rate of £6.55, increasing to £10 per hour after 6 months, and £11.44 per hour after 12 months.
