Head of Marine, Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of Marine, Engineering & Specialty Claims. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for the management and adjustment of all Marine, Engineering and Specialty claims emanating from our syndicate or international distribution companies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and adjust Marine, Engineering and Specialty claims, ensuring a quality claims service that pays valid claims promptly and sets reserves at expected ultimate cost.
- Participate in regular leadership and underwriting meetings, providing feedback on policy wordings and market losses.
- Represent our syndicate in claims meetings and discussions, both in the UK and worldwide.
- Manage current outsourced delegation to Crawford & Company for all lead and second lead claims for Cargo, Cargo Liability, Project Cargo & Specie classes of business.
- Sound business knowledge and understanding of insurance practice, generic legal principles, FCA rules and regulations, and Lloyd's regulations.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
