Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Rehabilitation Support Specialist to become a vital member of our orthopaedic unit.

The selected individual will collaborate with physiotherapists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver rehabilitation services and assist in patient transitions from hospital to home. This role will focus on orthopaedic patients undergoing recovery, including those with trauma and joint replacement surgeries, as well as individuals with additional health challenges such as neurological conditions, respiratory issues, and signs of frailty.

Comprehensive training and continuous professional development will be provided by a supportive and experienced team.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this position; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physiotherapists in implementing and managing rehabilitation programs for patients with diverse and complex needs, drawing on foundational theoretical knowledge and practical experience gained through training and qualifications.
  • Organize and facilitate pulmonary rehabilitation sessions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure high-quality care for each patient by collaborating with all relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced rehabilitation support staff.
  • Engage in evidence-based initiatives and contribute to the implementation of improvements within the designated area.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level III/BTEC or equivalent in a health-related field or working towards such qualifications.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must meet all essential criteria outlined in the job description.
  • Previous experience in a rehabilitation support role is advantageous.
  • Experience within the NHS is preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must be physically capable of handling patients and equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to navigate between departments and facilities efficiently.
