Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist

Westfalia Fruit is seeking an experienced Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role can be based at our Head Office in Kings Hill, UK, or at one of our offices in Europe (France, Germany, or the Netherlands).

About the Role

This is a newly created position that reflects the increasing importance of internal communications within our business. As an Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in building a first-class internal communications function that delivers brilliant communications to our colleagues across Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the European Communications & Engagement strategy, aligned with the global strategy.
  • Create and deliver clear, impactful internal communications to drive colleague understanding and advocacy for company transformation.
  • Translate complex information into engaging and accessible content for all 8,500 colleagues, including those without direct access to IT.
  • Develop and deliver targeted communication campaigns to build engagement with company priorities.
  • Uncover and showcase inspiring stories to celebrate colleague achievements and company initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain internal communication platforms, keeping content fresh and readily accessible.
  • Demonstrate creativity and find innovative ways to reach colleagues across all roles and locations.
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced comms professional with a proven track record of executing successful internal communications and content across Europe. Essential requirements include:

  • Prior experience of executing successful internal communications and content across Europe.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering engaging internal communication materials, ideally relating to change transformation within an organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ideally with a second European language (German, French, Dutch, or Spanish).

Desirable requirements include:

  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with visual design tools (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Yammer).
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and communication tools.
  • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
