Hours: 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (some flexibility required occasionally)

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Labour and Equipment: Drive efficiencies in warehouse operations by effectively managing labour and equipment.
  • Liaise with Customers and Suppliers: Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and transport teams to plan, receive, assemble, and dispatch goods.
  • Optimize Space and Resources: Utilize space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently to meet quality and budgetary targets.
  • Implement Automated Systems: Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary to streamline operations.
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Ensure a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company's health and safety policy.
  • Manage Operational Costs: Effectively manage and control operational costs to ensure the company's financial goals are met.
  • Lead and Develop the Operational Team: Manage, support, and develop the operational team through continuous improvement and proactive communication.
  • Establish a Harmonized Team Environment: Foster a harmonized people-focused team-working environment that promotes collaboration and productivity.
  • Uphold High Standards: Ensure the highest standards of health and safety, and ensure all inductions and regular training are completed and logged.
  • Implement Key Standards: Establish, monitor, and maintain agreed performance levels for all warehouse activity.
  • Liaise with Internal and External Customers: Develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Review and Develop Working Practices: Maintain, review, and develop working practices in line with operational procedures.
  • Day-to-Day Planning: Plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including special projects and initiatives.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate internally through the production of reports and KPI information to ensure the team is informed and aligned with company goals.
  • Deliver Client Requirements: Ensure efficient and effective delivery and implementation of all aspects of client operational requirements.
  • Facilitate Operational Meetings: Attend and facilitate regular operational meetings with staff to communicate consistent objectives and performance.
  • Work to KPIs and Objectives: Work to KPIs and objectives agreed with clients, taking into account any special projects or initiatives.
Requirements
  • Good Communication Skills: Possess good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Have good computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Management Experience: Have management experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Confidence and Persuasion: Possess confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Have good organizational and time management skills.
  • People Skills: Possess good 'people skills' for working with a range of colleagues and customers.
  • Leadership Skills: Have the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Pressure Management: Work well under pressure.
  • Proactivity: Be proactive in identifying and implementing solutions to improve warehouse operations.
